Bloom is famous for his Taxonomy of Knowledge (1956) stating that there is more than one type of learning and that the goal of educators should be to faciliate more higher-order types of learning. 

 

Identity theory proposed by such researchers as Bellenky and B. Norton theorize some people internalize their own learning processes as "belonging" to themselves more than others as part of their indentity.   

 

Multiple Intelligences theory states that people learn within specialize modes and that people have diverse learning styles.
